Biogas Renewable Energy Plant Project - Papan, Ipoh
Following the One Belt One Road initiative in South East Asia, Henan BCCY Environmental Energy Co.,Ltd took this opportunity and established a Malaysia local subsidiary company named Spektra Voltik Sdn Bhd-1018186-T.
The company mainly comprises of the management team from Malaysia and the technical team from China's Henan BCCY Environmental Energy (Henan BCCY). As the first overseas subsidiary of Henan BCCY, we are committed to our mission of creating a green future and contributing to clean energy for the environment. This will be our first step to globalise our technology.
The company is principally engaged in the business of biogas power generation and undertakes the matured technology of Henan BCCY.
Our main focus is on landfill biogas power generation. Biogas is mainly produced by the use of biodegradable waste through anaerobic fermentation of gas, biogas (BIOGAS) mainly contains methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Biogas is capable of generating electricity because methane in biogas is a flammable gas that can be used as a source of power for the gas engines.
In cooperation with Ipoh Local Council, Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI) and Sanitary Landfill Management Company, Selekta Spektra Sdn Bhd, this first project is located in the north of Peninsular Malaysia, and at the same time, the first sanitary landfill gas power generation project in the state of Perak. This is mainly based on landfill methane biogas power generation and is expected to be commission before year 2018. It will have an annual generation to (Tenaga Nasional Berhad) of 17,520 MW which is about 75,000 households of daily electricity consumption. In addition, the Biogas Power Plant can help to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide by nearly 2 tons per day, which is approximately to reduce emissions of 600 tons of carbon dioxide a year.
We have already invested more than RM10million into this project. Our technology and experience into the project, will not only contribute to greatly reducing the landfill odour problems, and improve the living environment of nearby residents, but also to eliminate the security risks of landfill.
Since this project is the first in Perak to use sanitary landfill gas for power generation, we have spent a lot of effort on the greening and layout of the power plant. We hope that this plant will be a model to the government and also to schools and it will help more people especially the younger generation to have more understanding on renewable energy. For a cleaner environment, this concept of education on environmental protection introduced into the campus is beneficial to everyone that will create a sense of responsibility for the environment.
